Job Summary

The Technical Assistant to the Group Chief Financial Officer (GCFO) provides strategic, analytical and operational support to the GCFO across the Group Finance function. The role serves as a key coordination point across Finance, supporting the tracking and execution of strategic priorities, financial reporting activities, finance transformation initiatives and other critical deliverables. The incumbent will work closely with the GCFO, Group Financial Controller and Finance teams across the Group to ensure timely execution, effective follow-through and visibility of key finance priorities.

Job Details

1. Executive and Strategic Support to the GCFO

  • Provide high-quality analytical and operational support to the GCFO on strategic and business priorities.
  • Prepare briefing materials, management reports, presentations and analyses required for meetings and decision-making.
  • Support the GCFO in preparing for management, Board, committee and other strategic meetings.
  • Conduct financial and business analysis to support informed decision-making.
  • Support the preparation, review and follow-up of key finance deliverables and management requests.
  • Coordinate information required by the GCFO from Finance teams and Group office.

2. Finance Action Tracking and Strategic Initiatives

  • Maintain a central tracker of Finance action items, strategic initiatives and key deliverables.
  •  Follow up with relevant stakeholders to ensure timely completion of assigned actions.
  • Monitor progress against agreed timelines and escalate delays or emerging issues to the GCFO.
  • Prepare regular status updates on strategic Finance initiatives.
  • Support the GCFO in driving accountability and execution across Finance teams.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and records of key decisions, actions and deliverables.

3. Group Financial Reporting & Consolidation Coordination

  • Support the coordination of Group financial reporting activities and reporting timelines.
  • Work with the Group Financial Controller and subsidiary Finance teams to ensure timely submission of required financial information.
  • Support the collation, review and validation of financial data for Group reporting.
  • Assist with consolidation-related activities and analysis.
  • Support the preparation of management reports, financial dashboards and performance updates.
  • Analyse financial information and highlight significant trends, variances or issues requiring management attention.
  • Follow up on reporting gaps, inconsistencies and outstanding submissions

4. Finance Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Support the identification and implementation of initiatives to improve Finance processes, systems and ways of working.
  • Participate in Finance digitalization, automation and transformation initiatives.
  • Support process reviews, documentation and redesign across Finance.
  • Assist in identifying inefficiencies, control gaps and opportunities for improved reporting and decision-making.
  • Support the implementation and tracking of Finance transformation projects.
  • Monitor the adoption and effectiveness of newly implemented processes and systems.

5. Financial Analysis & Business Support

  • Conduct financial analysis and research on specific issues or business questions as required.
  • Support the preparation of financial models, analyses and management presentations.
  • Assist with budget, forecast and performance analysis where required.
  • Analyse business and financial performance and provide relevant insights to support management decisions.
  • Undertake research and benchmarking on finance-related matters.
  • Support ad hoc analysis and special projects assigned by the GCFO.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration or a related discipline.
  • 3–6 years' experience in Finance, Accounting, Financial Reporting, Audit, FP&A, Consulting or a related field
  • Professional accounting qualification such as ACA, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is strongly preferred.
  • Ability to interpret complex financial information and translate it into actionable insights.
  • Strong ownership of tasks, deadlines and deliverables.
  • High level of accuracy when working with financial and management information.
  • Ability to understand the bigger business picture beyond individual Finance activities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly when engaging senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively across multiple teams and subsidiaries.
