Job Summary
As Finance Manager, you will undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, and budget and forecast preparation. You will drive tax management/administration and performance management, amongst others while acting as a consultant to the CFO and other Senior managers alike.
Job Details
- Maintain and enforce a documented system of accounting policies and procedures Manage outsourced functions
- Ensure that accounts payable are paid in a timely manner
- Ensure that all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable
- Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
- Ensure that periodic bank reconciliations are completed
- Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis
- Maintain the chart of accounts and manage GL for accuracy
- Oversee management of tax- VAT, WHT, PAYE. Liaise with the company’s tax consultant, auditor and regulators for efficient tax management
- Maintain a system of controls over accounting transactions
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual management account for management and regulators.
- Issue timely and complete financial statements.
- Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report.
- Recommend benchmarks against which to measure the performance of company operations.
- Monitor and measure financial performance within the company.
- Oversee the collation & recording of performance information and provide assurance that these are recorded appropriately.
- Champion continuous finance process improvement within the company.
- Provide regulatory reports to the compliance department for rendition.
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- Minimum of 8 years’ experience in Finance.
- Professional certifications (CFA, ACA, ACCA) are an added advantage
- Experience working in an Asset Management firm is required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in financial software and advanced Microsoft Excel.
