Job Summary

The Group Lead, Partnership and Collaboration will lead strategic identification, engagement, and management of high-level institutional relationships. The incumbent will serve as the primary bridge between the Group and public/development sectors to originate investment opportunities, secure blended financing, and enhance the Group’s market positioning. In this capacity, he/she will secure partnership and business growth opportunities across government ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) at both the national and sub-national level across investments, funds management, portfolio management, pension fund administration, insurance, lending, and infrastructure.

Job Details

  • Strategic Business Growth & Disciplined Execution
    • Identify and originate investment opportunities within the public sector and development space - prospecting high-value opportunities within government sectors related to investments, portfolio and pension fund management, insurance, lending, and infrastructure projects.
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive growth strategy targeting government MDAs at national and sub-national levels.
    • Lead negotiations and partnership discussions on engagements with MDAs aligned with Norrenberger’s strategic objectives.
    • Manage the full sales cycle from opportunity identification, proposal development, presentation, deal closure, through to execution.
    • Drive revenue growth targets and monitor performance metrics related to government partnerships and new business development.
  • Stakeholders Management
    • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in government MDAs, understanding their financial solutions needs and policy environments.
    • Act as the lead envoy to heads of DFIs (Development Finance Institutions), and country directors of international NGOs.
    • Represent the organization at industry forums, government events, and stakeholder meetings to enhance brand visibility and market access.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory policies and governance standards in dealings with government entities.
    • Serve as the primary relationship owner for strategic partners at the group level.
    • Act as a bridge between external partners and internal stakeholders across subsidiaries.
  • Advocacy – Policy & Market
    • Monitor regulatory and policy shifts in the Nigerian landscape to position the Group as a preferred partner for national projects
    • Monitor market trends, regulatory changes, and competitive activities in the public sector to inform business growth initiatives.

 

  • Synergy
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, brand, risk, legal, and compliance teams to design and tailor financial solutions that meet government requirements.
    • Identify opportunities for multi-subsidiary partnerships to maximize group synergies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting or in a related management and science field (Masters degree is an added advantage, and preferred).
  • Proven experience of 8-10 years in business development, partnerships, marketing or sales within financial services and other industries, especially servicing public sector clients and development agencies.
  • Strong understanding of government operations, procurement, and regulatory environments.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex negotiations and closing high-value deals with government entities.

KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES

  • Political intelligence, with ability to navigate the nuances of the Nigerian public sector and development agencies.
  • Deep understanding of investment instruments, project finance, and risk mitigation.
  • Diplomatic finesse and professionalism required to engage with Ministers, DGs, Diplomats and CEOs of Global Philanthropies and Foundations.
  • Strategic thinking and strong commercial acumen.
  • Excellent relationship-building and stakeholder management skills.
