About Norren Academy: Norren Academy is a Group-wide talent development initiative designed to build a strong and sustainable talent pipeline across Norrenberger Financial Group and its subsidiaries. The Research Academy pilot focuses on recruiting NYSC interns for structured training in Research, hands-on experience, and eventual deployment into functional units within the Group. The program combines classroom learning, practical assignments, and real business exposure to prepare interns for long-term careers within the organization.

Job Details

Role Overview:
The Research Academy Intern will participate in a structured development program that combines classroom learning, practical assignments, and hands-on business exposure. The role is designed to build strong analytical, research, and cross-functional capabilities through daily training sessions and direct engagement with operational teams.

Interns will support core business functions such as Research, Finance, Operations, Internal Control, and Portfolio Management while completing real assignments aligned with business objectives. Throughout the program, participants will receive ongoing coaching, structured feedback, and performance tracking to ensure measurable learning progress. 

Key Responsibilities:

Academy Training Phase

  • Participate in structured classroom training sessions.
  • Complete assigned learning modules and assessments.
  • Engage in research-driven assignments aligned to real business needs.
  • Participate in group projects and case studies.

On-the-Job Exposure (Research Focus)

  • Support the Research team with data gathering, financial analysis, and report preparation.
  • Assist in market research, industry analysis, and trend monitoring.
  • Contribute to the preparation of investment notes, presentations, and internal research materials.
  • Provide analytical support for business and strategic initiatives.

Deployment Phase (Post-Training)

  • Support assigned functional units such as Research, Finance, Operations, Internal Control, or Portfolio Management.
  • Deliver on clearly defined performance objectives.
  • Participate in ongoing coaching and structured performance reviews.
  • Contribute to business improvement and operational efficiency initiatives.

Learning Objectives

  • Develop strong analytical and financial research skills.
  • Build cross-functional business knowledge.
  • Understand capital markets and financial services operations.
  • Strengthen professional communication and presentation skills.
  • Gain exposure to structured performance management processes.

Requirements

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Minimum of Second Class Upper (2:1) degree in Economics, Finance, Accounting, Statistics, Business Administration, Banking, Actuarial Science, Business Analytics, or related disciplines.
  • Must have commenced NYSC, preferably currently at Orientation Camp or recently deployed (Batch A1 2026 preferred) and posted to Abuja.
  • Must complete the application process and meet all stated requirements.
