Job Summary
The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing accurate financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the organization’s financial operations. The role ensures proper recording of transactions, effective financial controls, and timely reporting to support informed decision-making and financial accountability.
Job Details
Financial Transactions & Record Keeping
- Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Post journal entries and maintain proper documentation for all accounting activities.
- Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
- Ensure financial reports are accurate and prepared in line with accounting standards.
- Provide financial information and analysis to support management decisions.
Accounts Payable & Receivable
- Process supplier invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors.
- Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Maintain accurate records of payables and receivables.
Reconciliations
- Perform regular bank reconciliations.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Ensure all accounts are balanced and properly maintained.
Budgeting & Financial Monitoring
- Support the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual financial performance against budgets.
- Assist in analyzing variances and preparing reports for management review.
Compliance & Audit Support
- Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and accounting regulations.
- Prepare schedules and documentation required for internal and external audits.
- Support tax filings and statutory reporting requirements where necessary.
Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2–4 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or ongoing certification) is an added advantage.
